Fairytale Come Alive by Kristen Ashley. Sweet Dreams (Colorado Mountain. Wildest Dreams.

Tate is bossy and controlling. Yes, he’s an alpha male, and maybe at a different point in my life I might have been less upset by this.

Recent events, though, made me really angry seeing this behaviour in Tate. My dad has always been the “boss” of the family. But in the last few years he has developed a brain condition that is causing his motor abilities to degenerate, such that a man of only 65 can’t walk without the aid of a walker, and it will just get worse.

What really breaks my heart, though, is what I would have formerly seen as just protective behaviour by my dad, has become over-possessive and controlling behaviour. This behaviour has always been there. It is just so much worse now. It is such that my mum can’t even speak to me on the phone without him needing to be present, because he is paranoid she is planning to run away with a young lover. This is not the case. My mum is faithful and does everything for him.

He is constantly bossing her around and she isn’t even allowed to sleep with her back to him because then her “body language” is all wrong. I love both my mum and dad and it really breaks my heart. I feel all teary now just thinking about it. “He was tall, maybe taller than he seemed in the parking lot or maybe he just seemed bigger in the bar since his shoulders were so broad. But his hips were lean and his legs were long, his thighs obviously powerfully muscled and I could tell that through his jeans.

His dark brown hair gleamed even in the dull light of the bar. It was thick and it was clear he washed it and let it fall where it lay for the part was natural and not straight, it was swept back but some fell around his temples and curled a bit around his ears and at the back of his neck. His eyes looked dark.

I couldn’t tell the color but there were sun lines emanating from the sides that were attractive. His brow was heavy; his nose wasn’t perfect but it was straight with a slight bump at the top of the bridge that made it interesting; his cheekbones were cut and his jaw was strong. His skin was tanned in a way where I knew he didn’t get that color lounging by the pool and he was wearing faded jeans, black motorcycle boots and a heathered-gray-blue, long-sleeved, skintight, thermal Henley. He was beautiful.”.

R eading is my escapism, and I also love opening doors within me of emotions and thoughts. I'm a romantic, and so my main genre is Romance - Historical, Contemporary, Paranormal, Suspense, Science Fiction, Fantasy and Young Adult. When I read a book that isn't a 'Romance' per se, I will enjoy it more if there is some romantic element in it, or where I feel a strong emotional connection to the story and characters. I hope you find my book reviews helpful and that you find some new books to enjoy.

Happy Reading! My ratings reflect my enjoyment of the book and are entirely subjective. My name is not the usual spelling of “Jane”. I used to ask my parents, “WHY did you put a “Y” in my name?! To be forever misspelled?!” Then, in my late teens, I discovered the amazing Judith McNaught and the world of Lords and Ladies; beginning my love of Historical Romances. Around that time, my mum bought me a lovely hairbrush with the brand “Lady Jayne” embossed on the handle, because of the spelling. I loved that brush.

I used to dream of being “Lady Jayne”, with my own handsome Duke and our many estates - each with its own library! Well, I have a loving husband who isn’t a Duke, but we have a lovely, cosy home together with our baby, Tookie (our cat).

I’m a “Cat Lady”! LOL Anyway, no Duke, no estates, but my online name is “Lady Jayne”. Though, no need to stand on ceremony here. Please feel free to call me the un-plain, Jayne. ^^ “I'm no model lady. A model's just an imitation of the real thing.” – Mae West.

'Just the knowledge that a good book is awaiting one at the end of the day makes that day happier.' Kathleen Thompson Norris, Hands Full of Living ' Life experience. I can talk it up, vow to broaden my horizons, but I’m still limited to the experiences with my life. How can a person understand an experience that lies completely outside her own? She can see it, feel it, imagine what it would be like to live it, but it’s no different from seeing a movie on a screen and saying, “Thank God that’s not me. ” ' Kelley Armstrong, The Summoning 'She understood now why her friend Elizabeth, with her near-genius, analytical mind gave wide berth to murder mysteries, psychological thrillers, and horror stories, and read only romance novels.

Because, by God, when a woman picked up one of those steamy books, she had a firm guarantee that there would be a Happily-Ever-After. That though the world outside those covers could bring such sorrow and disappointment and loneliness, between those covers, the world was a splendid place to be.' Karen Marie Moning, Darkfever 'We don't see things as they are, we see them as we are.' Anais Nin 'Love is never measured by the times a guy made you laugh, but by the number of times he made you SMILE after you cried.' Unknown 'Begin challenging your own assumptions. Your assumptions are your windows on the world.

Scrub them off every once in awhile, or the light won't come in.' Alan Alda 'Yearn to understand first and to be understood second.'

Beca Lewis 'Worry looks around, Sorry looks back, Ashamed looks down, Faith looks up, and Hope looks forward.' But to respect the right to be different is maybe even greater.' Unknown “Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.” Leo F.
